Lotus Racing has announced the new Evora GTC that will compete in America’s Grand-Am road races: the Rolex Sports Car Series. The car will be driven by British drivers Richard Adams, David Green, and Martin Byford.

The new Lotus Evora GTC is based on the Evora GT4 from which it borrows most of the components. However, the GTC is a much lighter model thanks to its new carbon-fiber doors, roof, and engine cover in fiber glass, as well as Plexiglass windows. The car has also been equipped with traction control, BOSCH Anti-Lock Brakes, and a new set of 18″ wheels mated to 27/65-18 tires at the front and 30/65-18s at the rear.

Under the hood, the Lotus Evora GTC gets the usual 4-liter V6 engine with an output of 450 HP and 324 lbs-ft of torque, linked to an XTRAC six-speed sequential paddle-shift.

“The GTC is quicker than the GT4 Enduro even though the Powertrain remains the same. We’ve managed to reduce the weight, and added ABS and traction control. Wider wheels mean customers now have a much greater selection of tyres they can use, the flared wheel arches accommodate this, which gives the car its visual definition and makes it look more muscular without hampering the aero,” said Louis Kerr, senior motorsport engineer, Group Lotus.

Up until this point, we’ve only been able to show you a couple of low-quality teasers of the Pagani Zonda 760 RS, a car which defines what a supercar should be all about as it’s the most powerful car ever produced up until now. However, today we have something very, very special for you.

Not only have a few incredible pictures of the car been officially released, Pagani owner and Evo Magazine owner Harry Metcalfe was lucky enough to drive this one-off piece of automotive art on some incredible Italian country roads.

The video is yet another one of the Evo Diaries series and is undoubtedly the most exquisite one they have ever done. The test begins off with Harry following the Pagani Zonda 760 RS in one of just a couple Zonda prototypes, which has evolved since the very first 6.0-liter V-12 up until its current 7.3-liter spec very similar to the unit fitted to the Cinque.

Despite the incredible prototype being extremely unique by itself, the 760 RS is something else entirely. Harry confirms that it cost the Chilean owner 1.6 million pounds or the equivalent of $2.5 ‘Benjamins.’ Nope, your eyes are not tricking you, that is in fact twice the price of the Huayra, and Metcalfe points out that the 760 RS is a very similar car to the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, while the Huayra could be considered as an extreme 911 Turbo.

Metcalfe goes on to confirm in the final seconds of the video that Lewis Hamilton did in fact purchase a 760 dubbed the ‘760 LH’ just like we reported, so hopefully some photos of that will be released in due course.

In the past few months or so, Porsche has revealed that they are planning the production of a new model to be placed under the current Panamera. We’re not really sure why they are planning this, but it probably has something to do with the fact that the Panamera has been very well-received in spite of the huffs and puffs of Porsche fanatics wanting the company to stick to sports cars. Until now, rumors of this future Pajun (Panamera Junior) model will be offered only as a sedan, but now German magazine Autobild is reporting that Porsche will also be offering a Pajun station wagon and that both will arrive in 2017.

The future Porsche Pajun will be built on an entirely new platform and will be offered with a new range of engines: six-cylinder gasoline units with 320, 420, and 520 HP and a six-cylinder diesel engine with up to 313 HP. It will especially target models like the Mercedes E-Class.

The future Porsche Pajun will be priced at about €65,000, or about $85,000 at the current exchange rates.

German tuner, Hofele Design, has earned a stellar reputation as one of the leading Porsche Cayenne tuners in the world. Their program for the Porsche SUV, called the “Cayster GT 670,” has been developed for a number of model years for the Cayenne and we’re not the least bit surprised to find out that they’ve released an updated version for the 2012 model.

Made up of a comprehensive aerodynamic body kit to go with a performance program, the 2012 Cayster GT 670 is one Cayenne that has truly been modded to look more aggressive than a standard 2012 Cayenne looks.

The first part of the package is a 14-piece aero kit that includes a number of new “bolt-on” components, including a new front bumper with integrated LED lights, widened wheel arches, a new “PowerDome” hood, new side sills, a rear spoiler and roof wing, and a new rear bumper with its own diffuser. Rounding off the exterior changes are a new set of 20″ or 22″ alloy wheels that have been finished in either black or silver.

Inside, the German tuner fitted new two-tone “StarLight” leather seats with quilted accents and Hofele Design logos embroidered on the headrests.

As far as performance is concerned, Hofele Design has a number of modifications for both the Cayenne Diesel and Cayenne S Hybrid. For the former, the engine enhancements increased the output of the SUV from the standard 241 horsepower and 405 lb/ft of torque all the way up to 296 horsepower and 479 lb/ft of torque.

Meanwhile, the latter gets an increased output of 474 horsepower and 543 lb/ft of torque, a significant improvement from the standard model’s 374 horsepower and 427 lb/ft of torque numbers.

Not that we should be surprised considering the talents of these guys, but when they decided to put their German tuning talents to good use and work one of the finest Italian supercars on the planet, we have to give kudos where they are due.

The car we’re talking about is the Lamborghini Aventador and Wheelsandmore gave it quite the modification, even calling it the “Rabbioso,” which apparently means ’angry’ when translated to English. Quite the description, huh?

First up on Wheelsandmore’s Rabbioso program is the car’s revamped looks, which features a new Mocha Brown paint finish, complete with a new set of 20″ 6Sporz ² forged wheels wrapped in 355/25/21 Pirelli tires.

The rims also carry the same mocha-brown finish and are complemented by a matte black wheel center.

Under the hood of the Italian supercar, Wheelsandmore decided to treat the Aventador’s 6.5-liter V12 with an electronic map optimization, as well as a new carbon fiber air box and a flip-controlled exhaust system, netting an increased output of 777 horsepower and 553 lb/ft of torque, up from the standard model’s 700-horsepower and 509 lb/ft of torque output.

Back in 2007, Buick unveiled a cool Riviera Concept which many thought would move on to production form. Nothing has been heard about this concept since then, but on May 3rd General Motors filed a trademark for a Riviera name, citing it for use on automobiles. Although they did not say it would be used for a Buick model, the previous concept makes us consider this as an option.

In fact, last year, it was rumored that GM wanted to produce a sporty coupe, possibly based on the rear-wheel drive Alpha platform. Then, at the 2012 New York Auto Show, the company announced it was considering bringing the Riviera name back, but in a rear-wheel drive form. The concept unveiled back in 2007 was a sporty coupe built on an Epsilon front-wheel drive platform.

So, the Riviera name may be used either for either a production version of the concept which would arrive sometime in 2015, or a new Riviera concept. We’re hoping for the first scenario!

It’s been more than a year since Toyota unveiled the concept version of the FT-86 Coupe at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. During that year, we’ve heard so many reports, rumors, and whispers about the car, that we’re beginning to think that this could very well be the second-coming of Toyota’s iconic Celica line.

Now, after months of speculation on our part and hardcore testing on Toyota’s part, the Japanese company has finally unveiled the production FT 86, only it will be called the GT-86 instead. The new name was chosen as a tribute to Toyota’s GT car heritage and the exhilarating drivability of the Corolla Levin AE86. The Toyota GT-86’s official debut will be made at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show.

The new GT 86 is based on an entirely new platform and features a low, highly aerodynamic bodyshell. It is powered by the same engine as its Subaru sibling – a 2.0 liter, naturally-aspirated petrol engine – but will only deliver 200 HP as opposed to Subaru’s promised 300 HP. That being said, the base BRZ will come with the same 200 HP that the new GT-86 is sporting, bringing these two models closer than originally anticipated. Subaru’s promised 300 HP will be present in the STI version, leading us to believe that a G-Sports variant for the GT-86 will bring forth the same amount of power. This borrowed engine will be mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.

UPDATE 05/09/12: We have added about 100 new high res images for the Toyota GT 86 and also five new videos showing off the sports car in action. Enjoy! Hit the jump to read more about the new Toyota GT 86.

Exterior: Despite the long wait, we still have to give the new GT 86 the prize for the most beautiful sports car of the year. Not only is it a sports car, but it also combines elegance with beauty and aggressiveness. Those that fell in love with the design of the concept will rejoice in the fact that not much has changed for the production model. The car’s overall shape and design was inspired by the Corolla-based AE86 sports coupe that was unveiled in the 80s. The GT-86 is a compact rear-wheel-drive sports coupe with an aerodynamic body that rides low to the ground to improve handling and allow it to cut through the air with ease. The fascia is completely aggressive with long slit-looking headlights giving it a mean and intimidating look, as well as an enlarged lower grille and a bold “Scorpion” styling to the lower grille. Towards the back, the new GT-86 gets a new rear spoiler, twin rear exhausts and the “86″ piston logo. It sits on 17″ alloy wheels.

Interior: The GT-86’s interior is as sporty as its outside with a flat-bottomed steering wheel with its very own red stitching. It measures only 365 mm, the smallest yet fitted to a Toyota and has been finished in buckskin finish. In addition to that, the GT-86 also has aluminum pedals, a navigation system, gauges that light with red neon, digital readouts, and a gray instrument panel that seamlessly molds into the darker dash. The car’s cockpit is further reinforced by carbon effect trim, a sporting, all-black roof lining, red upholstery stitching, and aviation-style rocker switchgear. It comes with a large tachometer that offers at-a-glance visibility and readability during sports driving. The front seat has also been designed to offer great comfort, as well as to prevent elbows from interfering with gearshift operation.

The new Toyota GT 86 measures just 4,240 mm long and only 1,285 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,570 mm. It offers a near-perfect, 53:47 weight distribution and a center of gravity of only 475 mm.

Engine: The Toyota GT-86 is powered by a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated flat-four engine, the result of a joint development between Subaru and Toyota, combined with D-4S technology (direct injection combined with port injection). With separate twin injectors for both direct and port injection, and a high compression ratio of 12.5:1, D-4S increases power and torque over a wide range of engine speeds without sacrificing fuel efficiency and environmental performance.

In the Toyota model, this engine will only deliver 200 HP at 7000 rpm and maximum torque of 151 lb-ft at 6600 rpm, but Subaru has promised a total of 300 HP for their version.

This engine will be mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The manual will offer quick and precise shifts with a short-throw, while the automatic transmission will feature sporty shifts controlled by steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifts. Power will be distributed effectively to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential.

Prices: The new Toyota GT 86 will be making its world debut in just a few days at the 2011 Tokyo Auto Show. It will go on sale in the Summer 2012. An official announcement for the North American market will most likely be made in Detroit.

The pricing for the car has varied just about every time news about it comes out. It was first reported that it was going to have a price tag of somewhere around $20,000, but recent reports have come out stating that the sports coupe could come at slightly more than $25,000. Either way, 25 grand for a revolutionary new sports coupe from Toyota sounds a lot like a bargain.

Competition: The first competitor for the new GT-86 will be its alter-ego with the Subaru badge, the Subaru FT-86. Subaru has promised that its car will look totally different from the Toyota model, as well as the advantage of offering almost 300 HP. Of course, that’s for the STI version, which Toyota may tackle with their own G-Sports variant for the GT-86. Toyota has also promised that its car will be cheaper. Who will win the battle? We’ll find out soon enough.

Nope, this is not the Ultima GTR! This is the Ultima GTW – a model based on the GTR, but with some impressive engine modifications! A standard GTR is powered by a 6.3-liter Chevy V8 producing 534hp and 528 lb-ft of torque, while the GTW has received a new 7.2 liter Dart Aluminum SBC engine from Peter Knight Racing that delivers a total of 648 HP and 616 lbs-ft of torque!

The project was started Wayne Lansdowne, who wanted to enhance the qualities of the existing Ultima GTR. When the project stalled out, George Williams took over and finished the build in an exquisite fashion.

The car’s body was modified by Steve Smith Custom and features a single piece carbon rear wing, modified headlights with new LED lights, and different carbon fiber elements, including new front and side splitters. The GTW now sits on a new set of Magnesium center lock Dymag one piece wheels finished in black, just like the entire body.

The interior was also modified, with Alcantara covered bucket seats in Antracite and black, a Sparco removable steering wheel, and numerous aluminum insertions.

Two years ago, we were announcing that Toyota and Tesla Motors had entered an agreement that would net Tesla $60 million to design and manufacture an all-electric powertrain for the RAV4 SUV.

Finally, after all of this time we have a debut date set. Unfortunately, it isn’t a showroom debut, but rather a showing of the final product.

Toyota has just has unveiled this new Tesla and Toyota collaboration to the U.S. at the International Electric Vehicle Symposium in LA on the May 7th at noon.

The Marussia B2 is the company’s second supercar and was built as an evolution of the B1 – Russia’s first supercar. This second coming continues the same impressive technologies of the B1, but is distinguished by a more powerful face and a unique interior. Marussia only created 500 units of this impressive model, with prices starting from $130,460.

The Marussia B2 will be offered with either a 2.8 liter V6 turbo engine or a naturally aspirated 3.5 liter V6 engine with power ranging from 300 to 420 HP. With these engines, the supercar can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and continue on to a top speed nearing 190mph.

“The B2 is an overt expression of our capabilities and ambition. Using the same exceptionally light and strong chassis structure combined with Marussia-Cosworth power units, the B2 allows our designers and our customers to explore their wilder side.”

UPDATE 05/08/2012: Just 500 units were planned from the start and less than 12 months after hitting the market, all 500 units have already been ordered and in order to fill all of these orders, Marussia and Valmet (the firm producing the B2) have decided to shift production from Marussia’s headquarters in Moscow to Valmet in Finland, which also produces the Fisker Karma.

With the B2 having received such a warm reception, it’s likely that Marussia is currently developing its successor, possibly named the ‘B3’.

Exterior and Interior: The Marussia B2 was built by Valmet – the same firm that produces the Fisker Karma. Compared to the previous B1, the B2 will be distinguished by satin black paintwork on the intakes and geometric elements to the grille and headlamp apertures. It will also feature deeply recessed intakes ahead of the rear wheels. All of these elements are were placed on the B2 to give it the appearance of an insect.

The interior of the car is also unique and features all the equipment and multimedia systems that set a Marussia apart from all other supercars. The best part is that Marussia is offering their customers the possibility to customize their supercar in any way they wish.

Engine: The Marussia B2 will be offered with a choice of two engines, both in mid-engine configuration. The first one is a 2.8 liter V6 turbo developed in cooperation with Cosworth that develops either 360 or 420 HP and a peak torque of 383 lbs-ft and 442 lbs-ft respectively. With a total weight of 2425 lbs, the 420 HP version will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and continue onto a top speed nearing 190mph.

The second engine is a naturally aspirated 3.5 liter V6 with an output of 300 HP combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a rear-wheel-drive system.

The B2 is also equipped with adjustable suspension (developed in partnership with German brand KW), hugely powerful brakes, ultra-light alloy wheels, and high-performance tires.

Prices: Just 500 units were planned with prices starting from $130,460. Less than 12 months after hitting the market, all 500 units have already been ordered and in order to fill all of these orders, Marussia and Valmet (the firm producing the B2) have decided to shift production from Marussia’s headquarters in Moscow to Valmet in Finland, which also produces the Fisker Karma.

With the B2 having received such a warm reception, it’s likely that Marussia is currently developing its successor, possibly named the ‘B3’.

Competition: If you are looking for a competitor for the Marussia B2, you will find plenty of them in the growing number of independent companies that have unveiled supercars in the past few months. We’ll stick to one with about the same performance numbers as the B2: the Tushek Renovatio T500 unveiled in early 2012.

The Renovatio T500 is powered by an Audi RS4 sourced 4.2 liter V8 engine that delivers a total of 450 HP at 7900 rpm and a peak torque of 315 lb-ft at 3200 rpm. The car can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and to 124 mph in 11.5 seconds. Top speed goes up to 192 mph.
